Clay County, Fla. — Neighbors in Foxmeadow Equestrian Estates in Clay County are mourning the loss of a coronavirus victim.

A man in his 70s recently passed away from COVID-19. Neighbors said he lived in their community and he was a retired Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps.

We are not naming the man out of respect for the family.

Families have also displayed stuffed animals on their properties as a scavenger hunt for the children.

In an effort to support the family during this time of grief, neighbors have put out more than 200 flag outside their homes to show support and solidarity for the veteran.

If kids see a stuffed animal, they take a photo and send it into a Facebook group.

The flags, scavenger hunt, etc. are a way to show support for each other during the pandemic.
