CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — There are roughly 4,000 schools in Florida and Jennifer Halter has proved that she’s the best principal in all the schools in the state.

Meet Jennifer Halter, who’s been a principal at Green Cove Springs Junior High School for six years. She’s helped lead the school to success, improving it from a “C” to an “A” school grade.

Her colleague says she is a mentor to both students and her staff.

“The Florida Department of Education could not have chosen a better leader for this honor. Principal Halter is everything a superintendent could ask for in a building leader. She is a mentor to beginning and novice principals, a strong collaborator on many of our district committees, and is an instructional coach to her faculty and staff: always encouraging them to be the best educators possible for their students,” said Superintendent David Broskie.
