CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office announced the death of long-time member Deputy Clint Seagle on Sunday.
Deputy Seagle died after a long battle with COVID-19.
He served the Clay County Sheriff’s Office since 2006. Seagle also served in the United States Navy for 21 years.
CCSO Sheriff Michelle Cook released the following statement:
The community rallied behind Deputy Seagle just ten days ago as he battled COVID-19 at St. Vincent’s hospital in Middleburg, Florida.

“Please pray for all who are dealing with COVID — The Seagle family, and all of our first responders who put themselves in harms way every single day. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is devastated by the second loss of a second deputy in less than 1 year.”
The sheriff’s office will escort Seagle from from Ascension St. Vincent’s Clay County in Middleburg to Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home located at 111 Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park on Monday, Aug. 30 at 1 p.m.
During the procession, both northbound and southbound traffic on Blanding Boulevard will be shut down.
Community members are welcome to come out and pay their respects.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office lost Sergeant Eric Twisdale to COVID-19 in September of this year.
