MIDDLEBURG, Fla. — The Clay County Sheriff's Office is seeking a man who is a person of interest in a death, an abduction and a vehicle theft.
Donald H. Davidson, a registered sexual predator in Florida, is at large as of Monday night and a BOLO (be on the lookout) has been issued for him, according to CCSO.
On Monday night just after 6, a woman in her 30s was found dead in the bathroom of a home in the 4800 block of Mayflower Street. The woman was found by her 13-year-old son. Deputies suspect foul play and Davidson is a person of interest in the woman's death.
Davidson is also a person of interest in an abduction of a girl, who has been located and is safe. The girl, who deputies say is the 10-year-old daughter of the woman found dead, was found near the scene as police were responding to the death.
The girl told police she was taken by Davidson and then dropped off by him. Deputies have reason to believe the girl was sexually assaulted, CCSO Lt. Wayne McKinney said.
A burgundy 2002 Kia Sedona with Florida tag 251-PUG is also missing from the victim's home and Davidson is believed to have stolen it. The van also has silver accents, some paint damage and dents.
