Cold case: Police search for man missing mysteriously for 16 years after a fight with his sister

Christopher Yant, 48, walked away from the fight. A warrant was issued, but his father says he hasn’t seen him since 2011.

It’s been about 16 years since Christopher Yant’s been seen after a fight with his sister. The case is under active investigation by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

In August 2010, the 32-year-old was involved in a physical altercation with his sister before walking away and becoming the subject of a warrant for his arrest.

Clay County Sheriff’s Office made several attempts to serve that warrant. During contact with family, there was no indication anything unusual had occurred.

Then, in 2014, Christopher’s biological father, Daniel Scott Yant, contacted the Clay County Sheriff’s Office to report his son had been missing for about three years.

The circumstances surrounding Yant’s disappearance remain a mystery and are under active investigation, said police, which provided an age-progressed photo of what Yant may look like today.

If you have any information that could help, please call the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at 904-264-6512 and ask for Det. Holmes.
