Jacksonville, Fla. — Add ‘fake appointments’ to the list of growing frustrations over Jacksonville’s rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Confusion swirled Saturday morning as Jacksonville residents arrived at the Prime Osborn for the scheduled appointed to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the Prime Osborne Center were told their appointments -- weren’t real.

Several seniors lined up at the Prime Osborn Convention Center early Saturday morning.
The Duval County Department of Health tells Action News Jax around 50 people booked appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine, but they were part of a “glitch” in the system.
The department also said its phone line to confirm appointments is not open on weekends, clarifying that the line is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Action News Jax received received several calls from frustrated residents claiming they had scheduled an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine at the Prime Osborn this Saturday but upon arriving, the building was empty.
A spokesperson with the Florida Department of Health says a ‘computer glitch’ is to blame and health officials say they are actively working to reschedule the vaccination appointments.
