Construction of new traffic light upgrades, signage to begin next week in Mandarin

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation says construction will begin next week on San Jose Boulevard from Mandarin Road to Julington Creek Road.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

• New traffic light upgrades will be added to San Jose Boulevard and Julington Creek Road, Westberry Road, Marbon Road, Orange Picker Road, Loretto Road, Ricky Drive and Mandarin Road.
• Pedestrian signals, highway striping, crosswalk striping, highway signage and concrete sidewalks will also be a part of the construction
• Drivers can expect periodic single lane closures during off-peak driving hours. Lane closures may occur from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. seven days a week.
• This $2.6 million improvement project is expected to be finished by summer 2020
