BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- The mother of DeMarquise Elkins will be sentenced Tuesday afternoon for her role in the killing of baby Antonio Santiago. Last August, a jury convicted Karimah Elkins of tampering with evidence but acquitted her on the charge of making a false statement. Authorities said the woman tried to hide the gun used to kill the 13-month-old baby during a robbery in March 2013. Karimah Elkins faces up to 15 years in prison. Her son, DeMarquise Elkins, 18, received life in prison for the killing. An accused accomplice, 15-year-old Dominique Lang, is awaiting trial.
