COVID-19 Hospitalizations rise at UF Health Jacksonville

There are 55 patients this morning, 16 in the ICU

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Dr. David Caro from the Emergency Department at UF Health Jacksonville is saying they are seeing an increase of cases at the hospital.

Caro says that there are 55 COVID-19 patients in the hospital. 16 of those patients are in the Intensive Care Unit. Four days ago, there were 38 total COVID-19 patients at the hospital. Two weeks ago there were 8 cases.

New hospitalizations are bringing them closer to capacity according to Caro.

“We’ve actually gone above of what our projections are internally for what would be in the intensive care,” Caro said.
