Millions of people spent time Monday scouring the internet for the best Cyber Monday deals.

But experts warn, before you buy something online, make sure your personal information is safe.

A spokesman for the Better Business Bureau said you need to double-check that you’re buying products from the actual retailer and not a fake site.

“If you’re looking to do business, Google the product and then go directly to that product's website,” BBB spokesman Tom Stephens said.

It's no surprise that one of the most popular sites is Amazon, and there are people using the Amazon logo, and your desire for a deal, to take your money.

Action News Jax got an email that had an Amazon logo and a paragraph telling the reader to make sure they don’t give out any personal information.

We passed the email along to Amazon, which told us it was a scam.
