Deputies: Man who stole BMW released from jail, arrested nearly 2 hours later for stealing truck

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — Deputies in Georgia believe Dequon Jones is "either very unlucky, a dumb criminal, likes Camden County jail food or all of the above."

According to the Camden County Sheriff's Office, Jones stole a truck less than two hours after being released from the Camden County jail Tuesday afternoon.

He was in jail on suspicion of stealing a BMW from a home in Camden County in 2017.

The workers reported the truck stolen. The sheriff's brother saw the truck a few hundred yards away from the theft area and saw Jones attempting to get back into it to drive away.

After being released, Jones walked about two blocks away from the Camden County Sheriff's Office, deputies said, and stole a truck from workers who were working on a house at the time.

Jones was arrested and faces a charge of theft of a motor vehicle. He is back in the Camden County Jail.
