JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News has obtained a copy of one of the first 911 calls made during a fire at a local flea market.
The fire at the Pecan Park Road Flea and Farmers' Market started shortly after 10 p.m. Monday night and destroyed 60 vendor units.
Damage from the fire was so intense that the 911 call actually came from someone who was driving on Interstate 95. That person called police after seeing smoke and flames lighting up the night sky.
Dispatch: "Fire and Rescue, what is the address of the emergency?"
911 caller: "I'm driving past the Pecan Park Flea Market and I could see flames and smoke coming out of it."

Witnesses say the flames were shooting tens of feet into the air -- a sight that the 911 caller couldn't miss as he drove by on the highway.
Dispatch: "You can see flames and smoke?"
911 caller: "I can see it … I could see it coming from 95. I just off of I-95 and saw it."
Dispatch: "We have help started. We already have someone on the way to check it out."
Firefighters were already on the way to the fire because minutes before the 911 call, one of the flea market's commercial fire alarms had gone off.
On Thursday, Action News received the incident call logs for the fire from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department. The logs show the fire alarm went off at 10:07 p.m. One minute later, firefighters were on their way. And 11 minutes after the initial fire alarm, firefighters were on scene battling the blaze. In all, more than two dozen fire trucks and roughly 100 firefighters fought the fire.
