ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. — A drunk driver crashed into a marked Atlantic Beach Police Department patrol car late Friday night while officers were conducting a traffic stop, triggering a chain-reaction collision that damaged two police vehicles and the car that had been pulled over.
The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Atlantic Boulevard, according to the Atlantic Beach Police Department. The impact pushed the first patrol car into a second police vehicle and into the stopped car, police said.

No injuries were reported, and no one involved was transported for medical treatment, according to officials.
The driver was arrested on a DUI charge by the Neptune Beach Police Department.
While the vehicles sustained significant damage, police said they were relieved the outcome wasn’t worse.

The Atlantic Beach Police Department used the incident to urge drivers to use caution on the road, offering the following reminders:
- Pay attention while driving.
- Move over or slow down when approaching emergency lights on the roadside.
- Designate a sober driver before drinking.
- Never drive under the influence.
