JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two people were injured in a fiery crash that happened early Saturday morning on Interstate 10.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 1:10 a.m. on I-10 eastbound near Hammond Boulevard.

An SUV being driven by a 34-year-old man from Jacksonville was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes.
His vehicle hit a sedan being driven by a 37-year-old woman from Fort Myers head-on.
The sedan immediately caught on fire, but other drivers stopped to help and pulled the woman out of the car. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

FHP said the car fire was extinguished by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
Both drivers were taken to UF Health to be treated for their injuries; the man’s injuries are listed as serious and the woman’s are listed as critical by FHP.
Charges are pending in the crash, FHP said.
