It’s been two weeks since the City of Jacksonville started handing out stimulus checks. But many on the waiting list, including Sheila Holton, are glued to their phones hoping for a call from the city saying they received an appointment.

As of Monday at 1 p.m., the city has distributed 20,678 cards, totaling $20,678,000.

As it relates to those on the waiting list, the city says, “We have started fulfilling requests from those on the waiting list and we feel that we should be able to accommodate a very large portion, if not all of the waiting list as long as they meet the qualifications.”
