JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man has been arrested following a hit-and-run crash that left a beloved Jacksonville pastor dead.
On the morning of Sept. 16, 2020, the wife of Lindsay Brown said her husband was out for a walk off Crystal Springs Road, when he was killed.
He was a pastor and a member of New Life Evangelistic Center. His family said he was a loving father and a retired Navy veteran.
“If it was your family you would want someone to do right by your family, so do right by my husband,” Lyruth Brown said at the time.

Police began an investigation and two days later, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced that officers were looking for a 1999 or 2000 light-colored Mitsubishi Montero Sport with front-end damage in connection to the crash.
The next day, authorities announced that the car had been located but no arrest had been made.
Months later, on March 5, a warrant was issued for the arrest of 26-year-old William Brandon Hodge.
Police said he turned himself in at the sheriff’s office on Friday.
He was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving a death.
