UPDATE, 5/19/2020: Charges against Sonya Elizabeth Rahming, an assistant principal at Stanton College Preparatory School, were dropped on Monday, May 18, court records show.
Rahming was originally arrested on charges of aggravated battery upon a pregnant female and domestic battery.

The first is the recent arrest of Sonya Elizabeth Rahming, an assistant principal at Stanton College Preparatory School. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the assistant principal is facing charges of aggravated battery upon a pregnant female.
Two employees under internal investigations at Stanton College Preparatory, according to Duval County Public Schools.
Rahming began with the district, according to DCPS, as a mathematics teacher at Forrest High School, now Westside High, in August 2006. She became an assistant principal in 2007 at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and moved to Stanton in 2009.
The second Stanton employee, Benjamin P. Nasrallah, was reassigned from his school duties yesterday, pending an internal investigation for allegations of inappropriate conduct with a student, DCPS says. Duval County School Police, along with the district’s office of professional standards, continue to investigate this matter.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Children and Families have also been notified.
Nasrallah was serving as the International Baccalaureate coordinator, according to DCPS. He started in that role in July 2017. Prior to that assignment, he served as a school counselor at Stanton beginning in August 2016.
Both employees are being reassigned to roles with no student contact while the district completes its investigations.
“Stanton, as you know, has the highest expectations and standards for our students,” said Principal Nongongoma Majova-Seane. “We have the same high expectations and standards for our staff. I am tremendously disappointed to learn of these allegations and events. We will cooperate as necessary with all investigations and ensure that Stanton’s high standards are upheld.”
