Boil water advisory for JEA customers after water main break in Arlington

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE 9:40 p.m.: Water has now been fully restored to customers in the area of Jasper Avenue, JEA says.

Crews are now working on cleaning the area.

According to JEA, there were no apparent signs of defects in the pipe. They are reviewing the pressure trends to see if there was a pressure spike that may have caused the water main break.

A boil water advisory has been issued for 230 JEA customers due to a water main break in the 7900 block of Jasper Avenue on Friday.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The water main break happened around 5 p.m. causing water to spew into the air. JEA crews managed to isolate it by 5:20 p.m.

The cause of the incident is unknown.

Residents in the following areas are advised to boil water:

  • 7703 India Ave. to 7820 India Ave.
  • 7623 Jasper Ave. to 8022 Jasper Ave.
  • 441 Pecan Street to 466 Pecan Street
  • 7613 Kona Ave. to 7719 Kona Ave.
