JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The mother of Taylor Rose Williams entered a plea of not guilty in her first appearance in Duval County court Wednesday.

Brianna Williams will appear in court again on February 4 for a pretrial hearing.

We reached out to the Florida Department of Children and Families that day to see if the family had a history; they got back to us and said they never had an open investigation on Williams.

Williams is facing charges of child neglect and lying to police in the disappearance of her 5-year-old daughter, Taylor Williams.

Action News Jax first told you on Nov. 6 when Brianna Williams told police her 5-year-old daughter was missing. Taylor was then the subject of an Amber Alert.

On Nov. 25, authorities confirmed that human remains found in Demopolis, Alabama, were that of Taylor Williams.
