Coronavirus: University of North Florida approves plan for reopening for fall semester

The University of North Florida Board of Trustees on Monday approved a plan for reopening for the fall semester.

UNF will present the plan to Board of Governors on June 23.

QUICK FACTS:

  • “Key highlights” of UNF’s reopening plan addresses social distancing, face coverings worn in certain areas, fewer in-person classes and reduced housing occupancy.
  • The campus will use theme of “UNF. Better. Stronger.” to show unified commitment to communication on safety protocols. A Medical Advisory Team has been established with professionals from Jacksonville area to consult.
  • For the most part, classes of more than 50 students will be held virtually. Classes of 25 or fewer students can likely be in classroom with 6 feet of separation. These are rough guidelines, will vary class to class.
