JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The popular, single-dose COVID-19 vaccine is being halted at Jacksonville’s federally supported vaccination sites.
Federal Emergency Management Agency officials said the Gateway Mall vaccination site, as well as its other mobile sites, will immediately pause use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
This comes after U.S. health agencies called for the pause in the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine Tuesday morning “out of an abundance of caution,” as officials investigate reports of blood clots.

As of April 12, nearly 7 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine have been administered in the United States.
The federally supported site is still offering second doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
