JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As of Friday night, Regency will be Jacksonville’s only public vaccination site for Florida residents 65 years and older along with healthcare workers.

The county health department’s Prime Osborn site finished distributing its supply of first doses Friday. The city-run Mandarin and Lane Wiley Senior Centers ran out of supply on Thursday night.

Action News Jax dug into the numbers of vaccines distributed in Duval County. The city was allotted a total of 10,750 first doses and administered an average of about 1,075 daily between both Mandarin and Lane Wiley Senior Centers.

Between all three sites, 2,037 doses were being administered on average each day. However, a representative told Action News Jax that the state-run Regency site would be booking approximately 1,000 appointments a day depending on supply.

The county health department’s Prime Osborn site administered a total of 14,430 doses over the span of 15 days for an average of about 962 daily doses.

That’s about half of the supply that was being administered previously.

Many residents expressed frustration booking an appointment at Prime Osborn and preferred the city-run sites which were first come, first served.

However, Mayor Lenny Curry announced Tuesday that the sites would be closed to any new patients. He said even though the city had the capacity to add sites, the state was no longer allotting vaccines.

Mayor Curry tweeted Friday saying, “I remain committed to pursuing additional supply chain options. I’m exhausting every option and relationship to secure additional supplies to administer at city sites.”

So far, no additional sites have been announced.

Anyone who received their first dose at either Mandarin, Lane Wiley or Prime Osborn should still go back to their respective facility for a second dose.
