JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Superintendent Dr. Diana Greene of Duval County Public Schools held a news briefing Thursday night to discuss day one of public schools in the district reopening.
Dr. Greene discussed a number of challenges the district confronted on day one of reopening and addressed the status of Microsoft Teams, the application used for Duval Homeroom virtual instruction.
Dr. Greene, who spent the day as a substitute teacher at a local school, also touted a number of successes on day one.
Those successes include children wearing masks to school throughout the district, thousands of students being transported successfully to and from school by bus, and thousands of students being fed breakfast, lunch, and in some cases dinner.
