JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Aug. 25 Update: The city tells Action News Jax it has no plans on closing any testing sites.

Original Story from Aug. 24:

Testing numbers are down at The Legends Center testing site in Jacksonville. The city provided Action News Jax with data that shows the decline.

Specifically, a decrease in testing occurred between late July and late August.

The average tests per day in July was 331.

In August the average was about 180 per day.

Monday morning there was no wait time at the Regency Center location, and the Legends Center was not packed either. This is a stark difference from long lines and wait times in June.

Action News Jax requested Regency Square mall testing site numbers but no one fulfilled the request.

The Florida Department of Health reports Tuesday marks 12 days with percent positives below 10% and the lowest number of cases reported since June 14.

Florida is now at more than 600,000 coronavirus cases.

Action News Jax is asking the city if they are considering closing any sites.
