JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A local couple pulled some unexpected Santa duty. They came home to find 20 packages in front of their garage that didn’t belong to them.

David Taylor-Bonner and Brittany Kato really delivered for Christmas. And we mean delivered.

“We loaded them all up, put it in the GPS, and we realized that it was about an hour trip,” Taylor-Bonner said.

When Taylor-Bonner and Kato got home Saturday night, they found 20 packages in front of their garage.

“The first thing we thought -- it was a joke,” Taylor-Bonner said.

there were 20 boxes that didn’t belong to them.

“All of the packages were lined out here outside of the garage door,” Kato said.

Taylor-Bonner said they reached out to FedEx but didn’t get a response.

“So we tracked the tracking numbers, and after tracking the tracking numbers it said that they were delayed and they would arrive the evening of Christmas Eve,” Taylor-Bonner said.

So they put on their Santa hats, loaded their SUV and headed to Atlantic Beach.

Although they arrived a little late, the couple made sure all 20 packages arrived to the right homes.

“Do unto other as you would have them do unto you,” Taylor-Bonner said.

“Definitely brought joy to my heart, and I will always treasure this memory forever,” Kato said.

Action News Jax will follow up with FedEx about how the mix-up happened, and a company spokesperson gave us this response:

"We sincerely apologize to our customers for this error. We are committed to treating our customers’ shipments with the utmost care and are taking the appropriate steps to address this matter.”
