JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Millions of our most vulnerable people rely on medical transportation every day. But an Action News Jax investigation has found one company serving locals has repeatedly failed to get people to their appointments.

Antonio Blair needs to go to dialysis three times a week, while he waits for a new kidney.
It’s treatment that’s necessary to keep him going.
But he says LogistiCare, the company that manages his transportation to and from dialysis has failed to pick him up on more than one occasion.
“They killed me because they didn’t show up,” explains Blair.
Blair says because of those missed drives to dialysis he ended up on life support in January. He’s filed three grievances with the company just this year.
In a letter back to Blair, LogistiCare even admitted to missing his trip the same day he ended up in the hospital.
“I would have died that night if I had never showed up,” explains Blair.
He claims they've failed to pick him up more than once since that near-death experience.
“They are still gambling with my life,” says Blair.
In an Action News Jax investigation back in July of 2019, we uncovered the same thing happening to another person in Jacksonville. That woman claimed LogistiCare failed to pick her up at least 11 times.
We reached out to LogistiCare for answers, they sent us this statement:
LogistiCare facilitates the transportation of tens of thousands of rides in the Jacksonville area annually and every single one matters. Every patient receiving non-emergency medical transportation deserves a ride in a safe and trustworthy manner. While we expect transportation provider-partners to ensure reliable rides for our members, we cannot comment on this matter as this type of information is strictly confidential.
Blair says he just wants a guaranteed ride.
“I have a 12-year-old son that needs his daddy and I need my son,” exclaims Blair.
