JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has reported a fatal crash in the Oceanway area on Yellow Bluff Rd.
The crash happened on the 14000 block of Yellow Bluff Road near Starratt Road, JSO said.
JSO reported at around 2:20 p.m. that a full-size SUV was traveling northbound on Yellow Bluff Rd. when the vehicle lost control for unknown reasons, resulting in a single-vehicle crash outside of the local fire station. No other vehicles were involved in this crash.
All three of the male passengers inside the vehicle were ejected during the crash, killing one in the process. The other two were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
JSO reported that it does not appear that the vehicle struck anything fixed to the road to cause the accident. It is also unknown at this time which passenger was driving the SUV.
At this time Yellow Bluff Rd. has been shut down due to the crash, starting at Hidden Creek.
This has been reportedly the ninth traffic fatality located inside Duval County in 2023.
