UPDATE: “Suspicious object” in San Marco has been cleared according to JSO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE 9:30 P.M.:

According to JSO, the package was an empty satchel.

Out of abundance of caution, JSO requested the Hazardous Device team come out to evaluate the object.

They determined there was absolutely nothing dangerous inside the object, and all residents have been able to return to their homes safely.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a “suspicious object” near River Rd. in San Marco.

According to JSO, there were about 8-10 homes evacuated from the area out of an abundance of caution.

Action News Jax reporter, Ryan Nelson is on scene working to get more information.
