JSO looking for man who shot at two people, prompting SWAT call out

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is looking for 59-year-old James David Childs, after police said he shot at two people in the 2600 block of Bulls Bay Highway and fled the scene, causing a SWAT call-out Sunday night.

Police were called to a residence on Bulls Bay Highway for reports of shots fired. Police learned that Childs and two victims got in a dispute.

The SWAT team was also called out. They searched the residence but were unable to locate Childs.

During the dispute, Childs fired a shot at the two victims then fled the scene, according to JSO.

When police arrived at the scene, they surrounded the residence where police believed Childs was.

White is wanted for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
