JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 34-year-old man is dead after a shooting at the Oak Hammock Apartments Tuesday, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
Officers were sent to the apartment complex on Acme Street around 5:50 p.m. after someone called 911 about a person that had been shot. When police arrived, JSO said they discovered the man dead and detained multiple people.

The sheriff’s office could not say whether the incident was domestic, but did say the man and the people involved knew each other.
The sheriff’s office said it will canvas the area to determine whether the incident was captured on a surveillance camera.
“At this time, we believe we have everyone involved currently in police custody. However, as we continue to investigate, if that changes, we’ll be sure to provide an update to the public,” JSO said.
