JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida State Fire Marshal is investigating what appears to be arson after a fire destroyed many luxury vehicles at a car lot Wednesday night.

The owner of the lot in the Marietta neighborhood told Action News Jax that at least five of his vehicles were damaged in the fire. Two of the cars were completely destroyed in what he believes was arson.
The cars damaged include high-end models such as a 2023 Corvette, a 2015 Maserati and a Mercedes.
Alan Carlinisan, who owns the car lot, said that his vehicles are used with the car rental app “Turo.” He got a call around 1 a.m. that the cars were on fire.

“It looks like someone gassed it up … poured gas all over the front of this car and the Corvette. It looks like they poured gas all over it and then lit it up because the whole thing is melted. It’s unrecognizable,” he said.
Carlinisan said he has a bunch of security cameras on the property, and upon looking at the footage, he saw two men pour gas on and ignite his cars.
Action News Jax reached out to the fire marshal about the official cause of the fire and the cost of the property damage, but we have yet to hear back.
