Three suspects are believed to be connected to thefts at two different stores on the same day, one in Fernandina Beach and one in Avondale.
“It’s just really hard to feel that vulnerable,” Megan Kodatt, owner of Willie’s children’s store, told Action News Jax.
Kodatt says the suspects entered her Avondale store Feb. 16 and stole $1,100 of personal items from an employee’s bag.

“The females distracted my two employees by asking about questions about what sizes we carry and the male, you can see him on the footage go straight back to our backroom,” Kodatt added.
Kodatt says the three suspects were in the store for less than a minute.
“I can’t really think of better words than, ‘That wasn’t nice; I hope you learn from this,’” Kodatt said.
Kodatt says she understands people go through hardships, but she says there are other ways to go about getting help. She hopes the suspects have a change of heart.
