JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man and a woman are in custody in connection to the death of 4-year-old James Reese Jr., according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Action News Jax reported in April that James’s death was being investigated as a murder.

Christopher Nastasi, the boy’s uncle, told Action News Jax James was brought to Wolfson Children’s Hospital on life support, later dying on April 21.

JSO said because of the severity of the boy’s injuries and his passing, the homicide unit began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
