JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Three-year-old Khari of the Guardian Catholic School turns 4 on Saturday.

On Friday, Khari’s father, a soldier in the U.S. Army who had been stationed in Poland, surprised his son at school.

“My dad!” shouted Khari as he ran into his father’s arms.

But Khari’s grandmother, Marva Watkins, tells Action News Jax the surprise reunion will forever be a cherished memory in their family.

For security purposes, the family asked Action News Jax not to reveal the identity of Khari’s father.

“His birthday is tomorrow. He’s turning four years old. His father came in from overseas. My grandson didn’t know that he was coming over,” said Watkins. “Oh, it was a tearful moment. Very tearful.”
