ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — State biologists are working with the Georgia Aquarium to figure out why a dwarf sperm whale beached itself.
The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said the beached whale was found about a mile south of the Duval County line.
The whale was about 6 1/2 feet long and weighed 800 pounds.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said another whale was found beached in the same area in November.
