JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The First Alert Weather team is tracking cooler and drier conditions Friday.
Friday morning will be partly cloudy to start with a breeze. Temperatures will drop into the 50s before sunrise.
Meteorologist Alyssa Pejic says it will be mostly sunny with highs near 70 degrees.
Overnight, the clouds will increase as a local nor’easter develops. Winds will shift off the Atlantic, making for a raw, somewhat ugly weekend.
“Breezy winds out of the north-northeast at 20+ mph, thus we’ll be very cool with a few showers, especially closer to the coast. It won’t be a nice weekend at the beaches, especially,” Meteorologist Garrett Bedenbaugh said.
Weekend beach conditions will be windy NE (20-25+ MPH),there will be rough surf (5-9 ft) and high rip risk. Highs will only be in the 60s Saturday and Sunday.
Conditions will slowly clear up early next week, then another front approaches Thursday.
The Gate River Run kicks off this weekend. Expect windy and cool conditions with temperatures in the low 50s with overcast skies.
