PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Ahead of tonight’s rivalry Nease-Ponte Vedra High football game, someone covered the Nease football field with an odd sort of Southern breakfast.

School officials discovered Friday eggs, cottage cheese, shrimp and other food covering bleachers and the Nease High football field in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Bleachers and the field were cleaned and the two school’s football teams were set to kick off Friday at 7 p.m. in what is considered a rivalry game.

St. Johns County School District officials said they became aware of the incident.

“This event did cause quite a disruption for the school and its administration,” spokeswoman Christine Upchurch said. “If the individuals responsible are identified, they would receive consequences in accordance with our Student Code of Conduct.”
