JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The family and friends of Damion Brooks passed out fliers after he disappeared last week.
On Tuesday, the body of a man was found in a ditch on Parkrus Lane in Northwest Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office identified the body as Damion Brooks on Friday.
“My mom came to me at like 12 and said she would never lie to me … but it's him,” said Adamia Brooks.
Brooks has four kids, including Adamia, who now have to grow up without a father.

“I just want to know … why would they do that?” Adamia said.
She says this is a tough time for her and her family, but she’s hoping to get through it by remembering the happiest moments with her father.
Adamia says her dad was 37.
Action News also spoke with MADD DADS. They say they have posted about Brooks' death on their Facebook page to try to get someone to come forward about what happened.
