Family of murder victim, M.A.D.D.A.D.S. search for answers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Family and community members canvassed a neighborhood where a father was killed in January.

Malcolm Davis was shot and killed while driving on January 26.

Family members joined community advocacy group M.A.D.D.A.D.S. in Moncrief Saturday.

"I'm just happy everyone came out today. To keep his memory alive," said Davis’ cousin Kareem Edwards.

Family members said Davis was a loving father and community-oriented person who believed in leading by example.

"I'm just heartbroken to know someone took him away from me because I don't have that leadership anymore," said Edwards.

Neighbors said they believe Davis was shot and lost conscience before hitting a pole in his truck.

They said they believe he also hit a flower bed that caused his truck to launch in the air and hit a fence.

Davis' family tells me they will continue to spread their story until his killer is behind bars.

"We are not going to let it go away. We are going to continue to fight, continue to fight until we get justice," said Davis’ sister Lynda Wright.
