This Sunday will mark one week since three young adults were killed in a hit-and-run crash in Oceanway. Action News Jax learned one of the victims, Allison Bushey, was supposed to run on Sunday in the Gate River Run. Instead, her father, Allen Bushey, and her brother plan to run in her honor.
“For closure for her, because she trained so hard throughout the year to do it. She and I ran it last year and we trained the year prior to that because we were overweight and I'm so again. So this is for her,” said Bushey’s father.
Bushey, John Curtis Carlisle and Jonathan Kyle Cassani were killed when the car they were in burst into flames after a hit-and-run accident.
Bushey’s brother, Aaron, will also be running to honor and always remember his 21-year-old sister.
“She would want me to do it for her. She tried to get me to do it and I told her 'nope.' I'll do it for her,” said Aaron Bushey.
