GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — A female inmate died Thursday morning after being found unresponsive during morning rounds at the Glynn County Detention Center.
Detention center staff immediately began CPR upon discovering the unresponsive inmate, the Glynn County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post.

Emergency medical personnel arrived at the facility and continued life-saving measures, but those efforts were unsuccessful, GCSO said.
In accordance with GCSO policy, officials immediately notified the local coroner and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation following the incident.
GBI is leading the death investigation, GCSO said.
