FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. -- — The State of Florida recognized the Fernandina Beach Police Department in June for top DUI arrests.
The award was for the most DUI arrests in the State of Florida by a law enforcement agency of 40 officers or less.
According to the FPD, Chief Jim Hurley accepted the award on June 27 during a ceremony in Orlando.
FDP says the goal of the Florida DUI Challenge is reduce the number of alcohol-related crashes, fatalities and injuries that occur in Florida by increasing DUI enforcement and public awareness of the state's alcohol-related crash program.
