The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating two deadly crashes in Jacksonville Tuesday morning.

Troopers said the first crash happened on I-295 northbound near New Kings Road at approximately 1:15 a.m.

Antuan Lenard Shaw, 33, of Tampa, Florida, the driver of a Nissan Sentra, died after he ran off the roadway "for an unknown reason," and hit the inside and outside barriers on I-295, FHP said.

His car collided with a Chevy Impala that was unable to avoid him and hit the left side of the car, according to authorities.

Troopers say a Jacksonville man identified as Antonio Christopher, 32, was driving the Impala and was seriously injured.

All northbound lanes were blocked on I-295 but have since reopened.

FHP said a pedestrian was hit and killed in another crash at 1:39 a.m. on U.S. 90 at Otis Road in west Jacksonville.

The pedestrian, identified by troopers as Jason Stewart Ketchem, 31, of Jacksonville, died at the scene.

FHP said he was was walking in a dark area of the roadway of U.S. 90 when he was hit by 21-year-old driver of a Chevy Silverado, who did not see him.
