FHP: Four kids injured after Jeep crashes on J. Turner Butler Blvd.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol says four children and two adults were injured in a crash Thursday evening in Jacksonville. According to a witness, the crash occurred due to improper lane changing.

The crash report said a Toyota Scion and Jeep Cherokee were both traveling westbound on J. Turner Butler Boulevard approaching I-295. The witness told troopers the Scion, which was in the center lane, "improperly changed lanes," causing "the right rear side of the Scion to strike the left front side of the Cherokee." The Cherokee was in the outside lane at the time.

Troopers said the Scion then traveled off the road and struck a metal light pole.

The driver of the Scion, identified by FHP as Mor Gueye, 33, of Jacksonville, has critical injuries.

Troopers said also inside the Scion was a 19-year-old man, a 7-year-old boy, an 8-year-old boy, an 11-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy.

The 13-year-old was reportedly not wearing a seat belt and has serious injuries. The others were wearing seat belts and suffered minor injuries, FHP said.

The driver of the Cherokee was not injured.
