JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Families are back inside their homes at a local RV park, after a mobile home caught on fire with a meth lab inside on Wednesday.

A burned metal frame and charred pieces were all over the place.

“We were here when the motor home went up in flames,” said Sandy Arnold.

Arnold said she and her husband didn’t think much about it, until first responders started to arrive.

“When the hazmat truck showed up, and they were fighting the fire with their oxygen masks, I thought, 'Hmm, that’s kind of different,'” said Arnold.

For hours, police, firefighters and hazmat teams fought the fire, even keeping about 80 neighbors away. Police say they found six containers of meth materials inside. They arrested a woman in connection to the fire.

“I hate to say, I wish it had surprised me, but it seems like you just see it more and more,” said Arnold.

Property manager Amber Korn said the woman was not supposed to be living in the RV.

“I just know the gentleman who owns the trailer. He lived here for over a year. He’s always been a fine resident,” said Korn.

The woman was not on the lease. Police say once they catch the RV owner, he could face arson and other charges.
