Firefighters extinguish fire in Bank of America building in downtown Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded Wednesday evening to a fire in a cafe on the first floor the Bank of America building in downtown Jacksonville.

JFRD got the call at 6:12 p.m. and smoke was observed in the stairwell of the high-rise building. People could smell smoke all the way up on the 30th floor of the building.

The situation is now under control and firefighters are clearing the building of the smoke. The Fire Marshal is investigating the exact cause of the fire.
