First Alert Weather: Drier days and soaring temperatures

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Here’s what the First Alert Weather Team said you can expect for the forecast:

It’s been a stormy Saturday across NE FL & SE GA
Rain started this morning up in Georgia and has shifted into NE FL early to mid afternoon
Some neighborhoods have received 2-3″ of rain in Duval and St. Johns Counties
Clouds and showers continue into the early evening
Rain will gradually fade away by sunset and overnight will be dry
Sunday will still have storms, but not as many
The heaviest storms will be inland, near & west of I-95
Monday brings a very similar pattern before the days get drier
We’re just tracking isolated storms each day Tuesday thru Friday
With less rain, the temperatures go back up to between 95-100

TROPICS

The National Hurricane Center has highlighted two areas in the Central & East Atlantic
A tropical wave in the E. Atlantic is moving westbound
Another tropical wave is yet to leave Africa but will in the coming days
Long-term forecasts indicate any tropical system that forms will stay out in the open ocean
Shear also looks to be present in the W. Atlantic, so any tropical development may not last long
We’ll be carefully tracking the next several days
