JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Here’s what the First Alert Weather Team said you can expect for the forecast:
- Locally heavy storms have dropped some rain across NE FL
- Rain has pivoted up from I-75 all the way toward the beaches
- Rain amounts haven’t been too high, mostly below 0.5″
- SE GA will be the spot to watch for storm development before sunset
- Storms will return Sunday but they look more isolated/widely scattered
- Monday stays on the drier side before we see better rain coverage the rest of the week
- The sea breeze each day will be the main storm trigger near I-95 & the St. Johns River
- Temps trend closer to average in the lower 90s each afternoon
- It will still be hot...just not quite as hot as it was last week
TROPICS
- There are a few areas to watch
- A tropical wave is way ou there off the coast of Portugal, not a concern
- Another tropical wave is SE of Bermuda, also not a concern
- A strong tropical wave is about to move off Africa
- Long-range forecast models show this system developing
- The long-term track keeps this system out to sea
- We’ll watch it all carefully, but despite the areas to watch, there’s no concern
