JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A few showers will move off the Atlantic this AM and afternoon.
- Drier weather well inland and in SE Georgia today.
- Coastal flood advisory for the St. Johns River Basin into the weekend.
- Local nor’easter continues today with onshore winds.
- High risk of rip currents.
- High surf of 3-5 feet that could help cause some beach erosion.
- Higher tides due to the approaching new moon + strengthening onshore winds.
- Additional rainfall totals could be 0.5-1.0 " in some localized spots that see a few rounds of showers.
- Scattered showers and storms return on Friday.
TROPICS
- Hurricane Isaias is now the first hurricane of the Atlantic season.
- 2026 has established a record for the satellite era - since 1966 - with no Atlantic hurricanes through & beyond Sept. 11th, until last night, October 7th.
- The hurricane will make a northward beeline to the Mississippi/Alabama coastline Fri. night-early Saturday.
- Few direct impacts but peripheral bands of showers & storms will be heavy at times with at least some threat for strong/severe storms from time to time.
