First Alert Weather: Very hot week ahead with some afternoon storms

Here’s what the First Alert Weather Team said you can expect for the forecast:

  • This morning is very warm and humid with temperatures mainly in the low 80s.
  • Today will be very hot until a few areas of rain develop. High temperatures will soar to 95-100 degrees across the region.
  • Humidity will push feels like temperatures to 105-108°F, with a few locations briefly topping 110°F. Everyone should practice heat safety by staying hydrated and limiting outdoor work during the hottest part of the day.
  • A few showers and storms will develop this afternoon, primarily across northeast Florida. Some will contain heavy rain, frequent lightning, and gusty winds.
  • Tuesday will be similar with both temperatures and afternoon rain chances.
  • Wednesday will feature slightly higher coverage of storms across northeast Florida, but temperatures will remain very hot.
  • Heat continues into the weekend.
  • The Jags preseason game Friday will feature hot temperatures in the 90s (feels like 100s) but cooling during the game from sunset and/or a few areas of rain.
